Carol shyly answers that both she and Sophia are fine and then apologizes about the campfire, Shane reassures her that she doesn't need to apologize and tells them to have a good night, he sarcastically thanks Ed for his 'cooperation' as he walks past and sits bac down with the group.Īfter a few minutes of silence, Chris speaks up about what the group are going to tell Merle's brother Daryl about the former being left behind in Atlanta, Courtney states they will tell him the truth but Noah sarcastically states about how the group will walk over to Daryl when he returns from his hunting trip with Duncan and Izzy and revile how they left Merle handcuffed to a pipe in a city filled with Walkers. When he finishes, Shane glances over at Carol and her daughter Sophia, kindly asking them about their evening. ![]() Ed tells him to mind " His own business for once", finally fed up with the man's behaviour, Shane walks over and sternly asks if Ed wants to have stern 'conversation'.Įd doesn't move and instead orders his wife Carol to pull the log out, she does so and Shane begins to stomp out the fire, much to Ed's ire. ![]() However the moment is ruined when a man named Ed Peletier throws another log onto the campfire, Shane notices this and gets up, telling Ed has to remove the log as a way to the fire low to prevent being spotted by any Walkers. Glancing over at Shane, Rick expresses his gratitude to his best friend for helping save his family, Shane simply smiles happily. Rick tells his son that Lori had every reason to believe he had died, Lori informs Rick about how the military were planning on medevac Rick and the other patients from the hospital in King County to Atlanta but it never happened, Rick isn't surprised by this, given the state of Atlanta after it got overrun. He prays to God for forgiveness and then spots a hacksaw from the overturned tool box and his resolve suddenly strengthens. Merle becomes hysterical, desperately trying to break free from the handcuffs. Glancing over his shoulder, he begins to panic when he notices a group of Walkers at the door leading to the roof, the padlock and chain was the only thing keeping them at bay. He babbles on about a violent incident from his past, suddenly a loud bang snaps him back into reality. He is delirious and his skin is starting to turn red from sunburn. On the the rooftop of the department store, a still handcuffed Merle is sitting down, talking out-loud. ![]()
